JobForDrones, a leading online marketplace for commercial drone operators and customers, has been selected as a finalist in the Innovations in Connecting People category for the 21st Annual MITX Awards. Held annually by the Massachusetts Innovation & Technology Exchange, the awards celebrate innovation and creativity.

Since relaunching with new technology in October of 2016, over 1000 certified commercial operators across the globe have registered with JobForDrones.  The new site, created by the talented team at Outsight Interactive in Boston, offers a robust communications platform.  Operators can create profiles, and  customers can post jobs, request bids from operators, field questions, and hire droners.  The site is designed to flexibly accommodate the constantly evolving regulations and applications for the commercial drone industry, while being streamlined, easy to use, and having a familiar look and feel for customers and operators.

“I’m thrilled to have the site – and the extraordinary team at Outsight Interactive – recognized by MITX.  Our industry is seeing so many new innovations every day – it’s really exciting to be part of that,” says Miriam McNabb, JobForDrones CEO. “We’re looking forward to growing even faster in the next year, helping more commercial operators find work and grow their operations.”

“It is not every day that you are approached with the opportunity to create a platform to facilitate an entirely new industry,” says Denise Preston, Co-founder and CEO of Outsight Interactive. “We were excited to be a part of bringing to life and are truly thrilled that it is already garnering industry recognition.”

Since 1996 the MITX Awards have grown to become the largest and most prestigious awards competition in the country, showcasing the best creative and innovative accomplishments in the area. This year over 100 senior leaders from Boston businesses judged entries for the MITX award categories.

“For 21 years, MITX has been celebrating the people, ideas and companies that fuel this thriving technology and innovation hub,” said MITX President Amy Quigley. “This year’s finalists are incredibly impressive. We are thrilled to honor their achievements!”
